MOUNTAINTOP 35L Hiking Travel Backpack with Rain Cover (M6329)

I bought this for a 2 week trip to Arizona, both as a carry on for the flights, and for hiking around the Grand Canyon. It worked great for both! (If you will be hiking in the hot sunshine, do yourself a favor and also get the Bayleaf UV blocking hoodie!)

I was looking for a smaller pack for day hikes that I didn’t need my Osprey 75L for – this pack is perfect! I received it as a gift for Christmas and I took it out for it’s first winter hike I was able to pack all of the emergency and cold weather gear that I needed. It felt comfortable and secure on my back for the entire 8 mile hike. I was hiking a very icy trail and took a bit of a slide and roll, the pack stayed on very securely and prevented me from rolling into a tree! The material is a high quality, the pocket locations are fantastic, and the straps fit me perfectly (I am 5’ 3” so packs tend to be too big) I highly recommend this pack if you are looking for something that is a lower price point for 1-2 day hikes.

I was looking for a reasonably priced backpack that would carry a hydration bladder and everything else I needed for an all day hike in the white mountains, something bigger than 20L but less than 40L. It took hours to find but was worth it. Love that it also has both chest & waist straps, place to hold poles and a bag hidden in the bottom to cover it if it rains, very well designed! I wore it for close to 10 hours and had no issues with my back. Only used it that one time so far, so can’t speak of durability, but so far I am very happy with it!!

I just returned from a week-long trip to Oregon, where I spent my days hiking with this backpack (which is what I purchased it for). I bought three total beforehand, with this one being the winner largely due a surprising amount of adjustable straps to meet my preferences. I’m short – 5’3″ and like to wear my pack higher and tighter to take stress off my lower back, but this had more customization options than I think I’ve ever seen. It was very comfortable for hour of wear at a time.In addition, the pockets are thoughtfully placed – I even utilized the waist strap pocket on several hikes to store my portable phone charger while connecting it to my phone in my pants pocket. I appreciate the rain cover option as well, though I didn’t use it. I got poured on throughout several hikes (Oregon in fall…), but everything inside stayed perfectly dry without the rain cover. To those who say it leaked, I find that having zipper pulls NOT at the top of the bag is helpful (otherwise you’re creating a little gap for water to get in – instead, close the bag at the lower side).This pack is big but not overwhelming on my smaller frame, and it held a ton (DLSR camera with extra lenses, several extra layers of clothes, poles, snacks, water bottle, etc). This will be my go-to backpack for many years to come.

My husband is very pleased with his Christmas present. Will serve his purposes well. Avid hiker and hobby photographer. As we see in the dead of winter here, it will be a few months before he can use it, but it looks very good.

So far so good. I needed a good daypack for when I was going without my trekking pack. This will be a nice size. Roomier than my previous one but not a multi day pack. And I like the color! It fits a variety of items, extra layers, water and snacks!

Great pack for highschool. Fits everything well, and my 16 year old son has yet to destroy it! He uses it everyday walking back and forth to school and around campus. Nicely made. Substantial zippers and the inside pockets are well laid out. Plenty of space for his laptop, a few notebooks, lunch and some other odds and ends.
